Birth Doula Support Includes:
Free Consultation
This is an opportunity for you to meet with me in person, see if I am a good fit for supporting you and your family, and ask any questions you might have. No obligation to book!
Phone & Email Support
As a birth professional and educator I am available to you via email and phone calls/texts for questions about diet/exercise during pregnancy, educational needs, preparing for labor/birth, etc.
Prenatal Visits
These birth preparation sessions are tailored specifically to you and your partner, including assistance with your birth plan, extensive practice of comfort techniques, and development of your postpartum care plan.
Continuous Labor Support
Continuous support is provided throughout labor and up to 2 hours immediately following the birth of your baby.
Breastfeeding Support
As a doula I provide assistance with baby's first feeding as well as basic breastfeeding support during the immediate postpartum period.
Postpartum Visits
These in-home visits include postpartum support as well as processing of the birth story. Extended in-home support may be requested for an additional fee.
Community Referrals
If at any time you need a referral for outside support (breastfeeding, postpartum depression/anxiety, grief counseling, alternative birth options, etc.), I can provide references to local agencies.
As a Doula, I Do Not:
Perform any clinical tasks
...such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, or any procedure that falls under the legal definition of practicing medicine. I also do not give any medical advice and will not advise you to act against any medical advice given by your care provider.
Make decisions for you
I will help you get the information necessary to make an informed decision and will remind you if there is a departure from your previously stated intentions during birth.
Speak to the staff on your behalf
I will discuss your concerns with you and suggest options, but you or your partner will speak on your own behalf to the clinical staff.
Project any beliefs onto your experience
I will provide unconditional emotional, physical, and informational support to you and your partner regardless of your beliefs, desires for your birht experience, or other personal preferences. I will be respectful of any choices you and your partner make for your family.
