What is Safe Haven Family Services (SHFS)?

Safe Haven Family Services is a collaborative, holistic practice aimed at serving birthing mothers and their families throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. We want to be the primary resource for families seeking a natural approach to care near Longview, Texas. We desire to provide evidence-based, individualized treatment, and deliver compassionate care to our clients.

What is SHFS's Vision and Mission Statement?

VISION STATEMENT: Our vision is to create a collaborative, holistic practice aimed at serving birthing mothers and their families throughout the perinatal period. We want to be the primary resource for families seeking a natural approach to care. We desire to provide evidence based, individualized treatment, and deliver compassionate care to our clients, different than any other options currently available  in our community. We desire to listen to and respect our clients, and continue our education as practitioners to remain abreast of the latest research available.

MISSION STATEMENT: Providing a holistic approach to birth and family care through comprehensive education, relational healthcare, specialized mental health services, and support for growing families.

Where is SHFS located?

We are in the process of finding and moving into an office space that is centrally located in Longview. In the meantime, our group meetings and events will be held in temporary locations. Prenatal and postpartum visits with your doula will usually be in your home.

What services does SHFS currently offer?

We currently offer the following services:

• Doula support for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, including an option for house cleaning!

• Perinatal counseling with a licensed professional for mothers and families

• Natural health solutions through nutrition, essential oils, supplements, exercise, biofeedback, muscle testing and suggestions of alternative therapies.

• Pregnancy, childbirth and newborn preparation & education

 

What services does SHFS plan to offer in the future?

We plan to offer the following services in the future:​

• Breastfeeding, Homeopathy, and Pelvic Floor Education

• Pre-/Postnatal Fitness Classes

• Nutritional Counseling and Education

• Placenta Encapsulation

• Breastfeeding Support with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant

• Chiropractic Care

• Pre/Postnatal Massage Therapy

• Acupuncture/Acupressure

• Belly Binding

• Maternity/Baby Boutique

  • Homemade natural goods stocked from local mom-run businesses (organic elderberry syrup, skin care products, essential oils, etc.)

• Expansion to birth center and midwife care options for pregnancy and birth care
